At SouthLife, you don’t have to clean yourself up before walking through our doors. Come as you are. We’re a church family, and that means children are welcomed, not just tolerated. Our church is lived in. People laugh, people cry, and real life happens here.
We don’t pretend to have everything together, either. We’d rather be real than polished and value transparency over appearances. We believe there is something powerful about being known and loved right where we are, while continuing to grow together in Christ.
Everything we believe and everything we do is rooted in the Word of God. Scripture is our foundation and our guide. It shapes what we believe about God and how we live. We want to be a people who don’t just hear God’s Word, but who live it out.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God’s gift to every person who belongs to Jesus. He is with us, working in us and through us as we follow Jesus. He empowers us to follow Jesus, equips us to join in God’s mission, and produces His fruit in our lives and in our community. We want to make room for the Spirit to lead us and transform us.
God has called us to South Wichita, and we love our neighbors. We want to be a church that is deeply rooted in this community, investing in the people and places around us while also looking beyond our neighborhood. South Wichita is our mission field, but it isn’t our only mission field. We want to see the gospel spread throughout Wichita and around the world.  For South Wichita, Sent to the World is something we live by.
And we believe church should be joyful. Following Jesus is serious, but taking ourselves too seriously isn’t. There should be plenty of laughter, friendship, celebration, and life together.
Through it all, prayer is at the center of who we are. We don’t want to simply make our own plans and ask God to bless them. We want to seek Him first, listen for His direction, and trust Him to change hearts, families, neighborhoods, and nations.
