Kevin is living his dream of getting to pastor a church in South Wichita, which is where he grew up. When Kevin moved out during college, he vowed never to return to the south side since it was a place associated with brokenness and pain. However, the Lord had other plans and called Kevin and his family to be missionaries in South Wichita, where they moved in 2022. He has a heart to make disciples of Jesus as he empowers and equips God’s people for the work of ministry.

Kevin continues to be in awe of the Lord and His plan of redemption for South Wichita and the Nations. He longs to see God’s people living out their identity as God’s children and walking in the fullness of all God has for them. His life is living proof that God answers prayers, and he longs to see God’s church be a House of Prayer for all Nations.

Kevin, a devoted husband and father, also finds joy in the simple things in life. He loves watching the Jayhawks and Chiefs play sports, a passion he shares with many of us. He also enjoys connecting with people over coffee and lunch and doing pretty much anything competitive and active.

Kendra brings a deep passion for both kids and ministry, and she’s uniquely gifted in administration and teamwork.  She is committed to creating a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for children and families. Kendra has a knack for finding all of the free and fun activities to do with kids in Wichita - ask her if you need any tips!

Youth and Discipleship Pastor: Carson Duba

Carson Duba grew up in South Dakota, where his Dad has been the director of Byron Bible Camp his whole life. Growing up, he watched people encounter Jesus Christ and learned that in any and every situation, there is an opportunity to create maximum fun! Now Carson is living in Wichita with a passion to see people encounter Jesus Christ and experience maximum fun!

Carson is married to Glory, and they have a baby girl named Nova. Their family is passionate about living like family with the people God puts around them by celebrating and encouraging one another daily, and walking in deep vulnerability.

Carson loves the process of things being restored or brought back to new life. He loves watching people’s hearts restored and dreams of seeing all creation restored. He also loves restoring and bringing cars, motorcycles, boats, and houses back to life. Carson will also never turn down the chance to play hockey, soccer, or spike ball.

Maryn is honored to serve as SouthLife’s Worship Director. She is passionate about shaping a liturgy that proclaims the truths of Scripture, and she seeks to make worship a time for people to feast on Jesus—singing the gospel, reveling in His love, and proclaiming His glory together.

Maryn is married to her husband, Josh, and they have a sweet baby boy. As a family, they enjoy walks, game nights, good coffee, and time spent with friends and neighbors.

Mercy Masterson serves as our Missions and Outreach Mobilizer at SouthLife, where she gets to help people discover what it looks like to live on mission in everyday life. Her heart is to see people encounter the presence of God, be transformed, and feel empowered to live fully for Him and His Kingdom.

She’s had the opportunity to travel to many places on mission, one of the most impactful being Lebanon. During that year, she learned Arabic, served missionaries through childcare, and focused on discipleship—experiences that deeply shaped her passion for both the local church and the nations. With over ten years of worship-leading experience, Mercy loves helping create space for people to meet with God and step into the call Jesus gave in Matthew 28. She’s passionate about seeing SouthLife live out its mission: For South Wichita, Sent to the World.

Outside of church life, Mercy loves spending time with her husband, Marshal, and their son, Malachi. She and Marshal enjoy playing volleyball together, and she also loves painting, reading, traveling, cooking, and simply having fun and playing games with family and friends!

Ruth serves as our Ministry and Operations Coordinator, bringing a heart for ministry and a gift for organization to everything she does. She plays a vital role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and meeting the administrative needs of a growing church.

With a strong background in administration and communication, Ruth helps manage day-to-day operations, supports church leadership, and ensures that the details of church life are handled with care and excellence.

She is passionate about creating a welcoming environment and loves serving the church family in practical, meaningful ways.
